Last November, the director of the General Directorate of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage of Murcia, Enrique Ujaldón, and the Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, visited La Bastida and the research center facilities and future museum. During their stay, the project directors (Vicente Lull, Rafael Micó, Cristina Rihuete and Roberto Risch) showed them the area of excavation and consolidation of the buildings and graves. Afterwards, they visited the laboratories and the storage room where they could observe the works of conservation, registration and analysis of the findings. Furthermore, they were introduced to the research team, consisted of twenty field technicians from different archaeology branches and staff from Totana's town dedicated to fieldwork.
The current facilities will be shortly extended to condition the museum that will exhibit the findings of the archaeological site. The aim is to combine research with dissemination and sensitization of the general public towards archaeological legacy.
