On the 8th of October of 2009, Pedro Alberto Cruz, counselor of Culture and Tourism of Murcia Region; Enrique Ujaldón, director of the General Directorate of Fine Arts and Culture Heritage; José Martínez Andreo, Mayor of Totana, and the direction team from Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, presented La Bastida project on a press conference. There, there were highlighted the project main objectives, the contribution of the participating institutions, as well as the most representative discoveries up to the present time.
Among the Project objectives, it stands out the systematic excavations and the creation of a research center to disseminate heritage. The activities of team of the UAB have the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Murcia, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the town hall of Totana, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce and the Ministry of Science and Innovation. Besides, several universities and research centers of Germany, France, United Kingdom and Austria collaborate on different specialized work areas.
