The fieldwork in La Bastida has been taken place since the beginning of January 2009 with a team of 15 technicians, 30 staff and technical equipment based on the application of the newest technology on topography, communication and information.
The fieldwork, laboratory analysis as well as the documentary work on the Argaric world is being developed with the support of the most advanced digital information and communication technology, making possible the management of large volume of data. It is used a computer system that collects all data in situ in filing cards installed in PC notebooks (tablets PC). Afterwards this information is transmitted via wireless in real time from the excavation to a server located in the museum. There, it is checked that all information is correct and the data is stored, ready for its analysis. These data storing devices do not only receive the excavation and laboratory filing cards, but video recordings of the excavation process, technical digital drawing of the structure of dwellings, etc.
This Intranet environment contributes to develop the recording activities in a faster and smoother way, from the moment of the object extraction to the inventory in the laboratory and its storage.
